Cummins 4.5L Conversion
WILL THE TUNE AND SET UP OF THE ENGINE ALLOW FOR EXTENDED PERIODS AT FULL LOAD WITHOUT DAMAGING THE LIFE OF THE ENGINE?
WILL ALL OF THE ORIGINAL INSTRUMENTS AND ACCESSORIES FUNCTION AS NORMAL (EG. AIR CON, ALTERNATOR, ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ETC)
Yes your instruments will continue to work as per normal. Your engine warning light will no longer function however the cummins has its own fail safe modes that we are happy to run you through.
We recommend oil changes every 10,000kms. With proper maintenance these engines don’t really have an “expectancy” as such, it depends on usage.
At present, there is a 10 week import time, around a 4 week engine preparation time and approximately 5 weeks for the conversion itself with a manual gearbox.
The 4.5L Cummins conversion starts at $34,000 and includes everything you need to get up and running.
We have a lifetime warranty on our conversion parts, the engine has a 12 month parts only replacement warranty. All, if any, warranty claims must come back to us to rectify.
Yes, Customers have reported 12L/100 loaded with camping gear on 35″ tires, economy when towing would be even more significant.
It is a mechanical factory Patrol fan.
We have now completed 7 of these conversions within the last year, as well as having multiple others we are doing currently. Currently the highest kms on one of our conversions is 15,000kms.
DOES THE WIRING CONNECT AND RUN THROUGH THE EXISITING ECU SYSTEM OR DOES IT NEED A SEPARATE CONTROL AND DASH SET UP?
Your factory dash is retained and works as normal, parts of the system do go through the factory ecu but mostly it goes through the new ecu.
Unfortunately we can not quote engineering prices (and requirements) in our build as they vary depending on the relevant legislation across Australian states and territories. We recommend getting in touch with your local engineer and going from there.
No. It runs under the gearbox behind the engine in an area that doesn’t affect ground clearance, meaning there is no extra heat coming into the cab during the warmer months.
ARE THE OIL/FILTERS READILY AVAILABLE AND CAN MOST MECHANICS SERVICE AND MAINTAIN ANY PART OF THE CONVERSION?
Yes, parts are readily available from most auto parts shops as well as Cummins dealers, and can be serviced by any regular mechanic.
We have been experiencing large problems with our communications system, and are working as hard (and quickly!) as we can to get our new system up and running. In the mean time you can contact us on our temporary office number: 0457 281 532, or via email at email@example.com
